Toyota, the LARGEST car maker in the world now, launched a Prius with a solar energy roof to ventilate parked cars. While the idea is not novel (ICP Solar launched a solar energy ventilator for parked cars in 1988 which did not quite work as well as today’s versions), it is a step in the right direction.
Although entirely solar powered cars are still far in our future, I don’t believe they are as far as most people think. The leaps and bounds of progress will make this happen in our lifetime, guaranteed.
And when it does, count me in as a buyer! And kudos to Toyota for its leadership…if only the “big 3” who are about to become “the medium 2” would listen to their customers and design cars we WANT to buy!!!
