SHOW (Solar Hydrogen Oxygen Water) TIME !

News today of a $0 cost home using solar and hydrogen built by a private individual in New Jersey!
Now we must admit that we would not think of NJ as the hub of eco-friendly power, yet you must know that New Jersey is in fact quite progressive in its support of solar power.
The builder of the home in the link above did it on his own, sinking $250,000 (net of subsidies) into his estate to build a completely self-sustaining home, totally disconnected from the grid!
This is proof that it can be done, although I will bet that the cost factor must come down by a factor of 10 before we get mass adoption. So my guess is that by 2020, we’ll see this combination of technologies in a fair percentage of new homes…

Having read the article in question we are very impressed with his proto type home…. it does look promising for the long term and will watch with great interest the area of Hydrogen generation, etc at the domestic level….and we would like to explore this with him as a means to achieve our longterm goals as residential developers
We at King Fisher Homes are developing the first Zero Cost Home (heating/cooling, Hot water and lighting that is) here in Ireland as part of a housing development of 24 large Canadian Style homes (ie with basements).
The prototype Showhouse is 4,671 square feet with 10’6″ ceilings in the basement and ground floor, 9′ on the first floor and 18′ vaulted on the top floor which consists the master bedroom of 1,000 square feet…. we hope to achieve this through the use of pv slates that do not detract from the slate roof that generate a minimum 7,223 kWh/ year which in turn power an air source heat pump, a Clean Air Furnace/HRV combined with a HEPA Filter….
This is phase one of our goal to develop a complete residential housing estate that is totally of grid and self sustaining…
The next stage will be designed to encompass all the domestic requirements for appliances (fridge, stove, dishwasher, microwave, washer dryer, computers etc.) and be completely off grid….save for emergency back up or to sell electricity back to the Grid…. :-)
    stay tuned…
