Learning from failures..

There is a lot more to learn from failure in some cases than from successes.

When I look back, most of mine have been related to an unhealthy ego. Yet I am not alone in that area and a conference has now been setup with entrepreneurial stories of failure…with an eye to helping others avoid the same errors and even ourselves, in such a public forum.

Failure is a subjective topic. It is said what “Winners never lose and quitters never win”. Its an adaptation of a more universally known saying, yet the truth is that if you find a way to learn from failure, its nature changes to experience. As you may read on the link, cultural differences in dealing with failure are an interesting topic as well…

How do you react to your own failures?

So, you sucked ICP Solar dry and have moved on to your next victim. Did you share your failures with them when you applied for the job? Now they don’t even answer the phone or e-mails. GREAT JOB!!

How may I help you David?

I am not in a position to help at ICP doesnt really have any operations today. The company was shortcircuited by its investors who refused to put more money in, hence your lack of response. I have joined a new company and hope to be in a position to help you in the coming months. I am sorry that I dont have better news yet that’s the truth and I think you deserve at least that. I will keep your email in my box and ask that you recontact me in January when things will be clearer in terms of how I can concretely help you.

        Regards
        Sass

Thank you for your response. I hope that we can come to some solution in the future. I do appreciate your willingness to do what you can to make it right.

  2. Hi Sass,
I don’t know your full story, but I appreciate your comment on learning from failures. Steve Jobs from Apple is my “virtual” mentor regarding “failure” and success. In todays’ world too many managers and CEOs are leading by their ego and personal (and investors) goals. In fact, they tend to completely forget about their own clients – the number one source of revenue for their company.

Serenity and positive creativity should be thought to managers and CEOs instead of old aggressive and sometimes “destructive” ways from the past century.

    Sass,

It is a bit past January, but I am hoping you can help to resolve my problem with your previous company? I woild like some closure on the matter, and hope that you can either help get it resolved, or if you are going wash your hands of it and walk away. I feel I am getting the same “run around” with you as I did with ICP. Can you help?
