If you thought the internet was a true democracy…think again..

Wikileaks brought down completely yesterday. Two days ago, it was Amazon dropping it as a server provider. So the power of governments reigns down on those who simply exposed truth.

And we all thought the internet is about democracy? Last night, I told my family that the founder of wikileaks did the US government the biggest favor…it showed them that what you say and what you write in front of someone’s face better be the same as what you say and write behind their backs. One comment came back that “well it just showed that those other countries are just looking after their own self-interest in dealing with the US”, to which I replied “and what does the USA do differently other than look after its own self-interest?”. So we have the perception of one global community, one free internet, one bunch of countries are “good” and others that are “bad”, and it simply confirms to me that our story of others is usually false.

Who would you be without your “story” of me?
