WOW. Take a look at this recent publication of pictures of Germany’s BMW i8 prototype electric vehicle.
While my mind says GM Volt (for obvious reasons), my heart says “Bimmmmmmmmerrrrrrrr” all the way. I ready to predict that by 2013 there will be 100 electric vehicles offered by manufacturers to the global market. With all of the buzz at last week’s Electric Vehicle conference in San Diego about the connectivity of it all, we see convergence by mobile phone, utility, automotive and battery makers into investments to make this the next true evolution of transportation.
While there remain significant range challenges, as well as the thoughts behind how we will dispose of these batteries, I can see clearly that there are some of the brightest minds in the world working on them. From such intensity will come innovative solutions not even on the drawing board today.
Such excitement for a Saturday morning…and now off to take my daughter to her singing lesson…in my gas-consuming SUV :(…
